Dad gave us one of the head lights Georgia is wearing. It was the greatest camping light ever! We need to get one for each of us.

Our First Family Campout
So, when we went home for Thanksgiving Break Mom and Dad were cleaning out their stuff to get ready for their mission, and they were so generous and gave us all of their camping gear! The girls, especially Georgia, were so excited to go camping. So we decided not to wait and the first weekend home we went camping! Aunt LeeAnn was so kind and offered to stay home with Baby Ava. We didn't have much prep time so we just headed to a place close by that we go riding and have seen people camping. We were able to get a fire started, cook the tin foil dinners (So Yummy!), and set up the tent in the dark. After some delicious s'mores and a little go fish, we headed to bed. What a crazy night! Besides Macie freezing; we started to hear some jeeps out riding - really close to our tent! One came up and did a doughnut right by us! Luckily we made it safely through the night. But instead of waking up to the sunrise, we woke up to gun shots about 200 yards from out tent! We had a lot of fun camping, but really need to find a new place to camp!

How fun! We still haven't taken our kids camping.
That looks like so much fun! How nice to have all that gear.And I really love Jamie's pink winter hat. It's a good look for him! Just kidding..... Love you guys!(your kids are SOOOOO adorable!)
Why does it seem that camping is the funnest thing ever until it's time to sleep?! We always seem to have similar troubles. I'm glad you didn't let that stop you - hopefully you'll find a better spot next time!
Jacob will be so glad that "Flat Jacob" got to go camping. It would be fun to go together sometime. Miss you!!
I haven't been camping in forever!! Looks like so much fun. The last time we tried camping in AZ we ran into some of the same problems you guys did, but we just packed up and left!! The girls are getting so big.
Hey, I think we have matching tents! We'll have to go camping together. We got a stove this Christmas, so you bring the bikes, and we'll cook! Definitely not a fan of the cold though, so maybe spring????
I LOVE camping, but you guys were smart to leave little Ava safe and warm at home. :) That's crazy about the 4wheelers and guns so close. By the way, James looks awesome in that pink beanie! haha!! :)
