The First Day of School

Yesterday was the girls first day of school. They were both really excited, and all nervous at the same time. Last week we went shopping and they picked out their own new outfits. Macie walked into the Childrens Place and saw this outfit on the manikin and said, "That's the outfit I want!" (except she didn't want the purple leggins to go with it). And Grandmom found them their cute new lunch bags they're holding- thanks; they love them!! Ava needed her picture too...
and Mom...
and Dad...
This is Georgia's new 3rd grade class room. She was excited to be in the next (for 3rd, 4th &5th graders) building and to have a smart board in her class room. (She's way in the back by the smart board).
This is Macie's 1st grade class. She has her very own desk this year, plays on the big playground, and changes class for her specials.

I wasn't expecting it to be so hard to have them go off to school; I love summer and having them at home. I know they will have a great year though!

Sliding on the Rocks

Friday we took a trip up to a natural water chute. It was a fun little get away. The water was cold, but the rocks were hot. The girls found they could play in the water and then lie on the rocks to warm up before they got back in. Ava loved to walk around on the rocks. Most of them were really slippery and she could hardly stand up; every time she would lose her step she would just laugh- she thought it was so funny. Look at how beautiful it is!!
Georgia heading down head first.
Way to go Mae Mae!
There were a few places where the water got pretty deep so Jamie climbed up and jumped off. I love this worn out from a really fun day look!

Hair Cut by Dad...then Salon

Beautiful Before... Jamie decided to cut the girls hair, as he always has, and has done a fabulous job in the past. This time he couldn't seem to get it even so it kept getting shorter and he decided to stop before it was all gone. Then we went to the salon and got their first professional hair cut. The girls love it - Don't they look beautiful!!
Beautiful After!

St. George Island Time

This is our third summer to go to St. George Island with Jamie's family, and it just seems to get better every year!!
Ava loved being held by Granddad.
Grandmom on island time.
The kids spent hours playing games in the pool.

Georgia and McCord collecting...small live shells, sand crabs, live sand dollars, sea shells....

Jamie's beautiful sister Lara and her oldest son Connor.
Ava spent lots of time holding a finger and walking up and down the shore.

Lots of creative games in the sand.
We dug a big hole in the sand and Ava loved climbing up the side and then sliding back down into the hole.
The seagulls weren't afraid and even grabbed bread from your fingers if you were brave enough.
The kids loved riding the boogie boards.

On the island they have a light house; we climbed up and could see the whole island - I think it is about twice the size of Kosrea where Mom and Dad are on their mission - very small!

The kids found tons of live sand dollars under their feet out on the sand bar. They are brown and then they bleach white in the sun.

Thanks Grandmom and Granddad we had a wonderful trip!! We miss you already!

Time with Cousins

My sister Emily and her family came to visit for 2 1/2 weeks. We jam packed our days with fun...we went to the circus, the rodeo, the baseball game, we shopped and ate carmel apples, we went rock wall climbing, we swam everyday either at the house or the community pool, the got our nails done, played wii and spy, did crafts, tye dyed lots of shirts, watched fireworks, and my favorite we went to see the musical Wicked!
Yes that cutie in the AU hat is my little Macie - wow she is looking older!

The high dive was the hit at the pool again this year!

Dancing to the music before the fireworks with Aunt LeeAnn.

Miss you already - thanks for coming!!
