The First Day of School
I have been trying to get myself to start a blog for months now, but it took Emily and Linnae starting one first to getting me really moving, so THANKS for the push! And thanks to Courtney for helping put it together.
Mom has been asking to see the girls first day of school pictures, so I thought that would be a great first post.
Georgia walked into 2nd grade like an old Pro at elementary school. Their big theme this year is community, and everything they do in the classroom is centered around that idea. They all have jobs and earn money for doing a good job or they lose money if the job is done poorly. They can also take out a loan if needed. At the end of the month they get to go to the market and shop. All this week they have been voting for different things; Georgia was very proud that the name she came up with for the "town" was voted for. She also asked me if I was going to run for President. When I told her I would vote for a new President but not run, she said, "Well if you won't, I will!, and I will be the first woman President" - I won't be surprised. She is loving school, her teacher already sent home a note telling me how much she enjoys having Georgia in her class.
I really didn't know what to expect Macie's reaction in Kindergarten to be, she seems to surprise me...but I am happy to say she LOVES it! She has made some fun little friends, and loves playing on the playground, but when Zach asked her to play girl chase boy she definitely said, "No!" I miss her playing and helping me around the house though, so I'm glad she likes it or it would be even harder to let her go.
